5 Things I Learned While Travelling with Friends

in , by Rejoyce Canaynay, January 17, 2017

I have always wanted to experience an out-of-town trip with just friends but having strict parents I never had a chance until this trip to Cebu with my friend and her friends. To be honest, I was asked by my friend many times already if I can join her on her trips but I always the one who declines since I'm always hesitant to ask permission. But when she said it is in Cebu, I got a little bit confident that my parents will allow me since it's my mothers' hometown. I'm so glad I asked for permission because they did allow me. After this trip, I learned a few things about traveling with friends and I wanted to share them with you.

1. Make sure to go out of your house with lots of loose bills because this way it's easier for you to share your part in every expense you'll be paying together in the whole trip. Traveling with friends is a pay your own expenses or we simply call it in Filipino - KKB (Kanya Kanyang Bayad). From meals, taxi fares and even entrance are equally shared.

2. Travelling with friends is not about having an extreme experience but rather enjoying every moment of it with them. Not everyone is lucky enough to travel with just friends so make sure to have fun together.

3. Cheaper is better! Because you're traveling with your friends, of course, your parents won't be there to pay for your needs so learn to budget. Talking about cheap, not because it's cheap doesn't mean it looks like one. You just have to find the perfect one that suits your needs and budget.

4. You can't please everyone. I have learned that no matter how hard you try, there will always be someone who disagrees with you and vice versa. Opinions and decisions will not be agreed equally at times but it's all part of the trip. Just enjoy the company of each other it may be at down times or not.

5. It's more fun! Yes, it can be a little crazy and tiring with all the adventures you want to try all day, clubbing at the nearest club in your hotel at night and all the expenses it all get but travelling with your friends is so much fun and a great bonding experience.

How about you, have you ever traveled or go on an out-of-town trip with friends?

  1. "Travelling with friends is not about having an extreme experience but rather enjoying every moment of it with them." This is just so true. Though me & my friends haven't been to far places, going out of Manila with them is such a memorable experience. Trips with friends does not need to expensive, happy moments is what really counts! :-)

  2. I love travelling with friends! My first ever travel with them was after college; we went to HK. It was scary at first as it was also my first time travelling without my family, but it was so much fun! We're actually having one again in May, and I can't wait!

  3. I love traveling with friends! It gives me that carefree feeling just because I'm with the most baliw people in my life. You are very on point with this post! It's not about the big adventures, it's the little moments that laaaast :) The KKB part is trueeee!! Ang hassle kapag "walang barya" hahaha magaadjust pa mga kasama mo para saluhin muna bayad mo :)). I think one thing I learned when I travel with friends is "wag kang maunang matulog kasi marami kang sleeping pictures the next day. Take note: baka drawingan ka pa hahaha"

  4. You're so lucky to be able to travel with your friends! Other than the fact that I think I have no enough money to travel leisurely, I also have strict parents. Huhu BTW, your pictures look amazing! What camera did you use? :D

    1. Glad my parents allowed me kahit they are very very strict when it comes in going out. Thanks, I only used my iPhone 5s and GoPro here. ;)

  5. I have tried travelling with friends too (different sets of friends)! No boyfriend, no family na kasama hahaha and I agree, most of them would like "budget" travel haha at yung KKB as in literal na kanyakanya haha kasi kapag si boyfriend kasama ko, pagsasamahin na namin budget tapos dun nalang kami kukuha. At iba din pag family ang kasama ko, kasi pag family sagot ko lahat kainis hahaha

Tara let's go travel bloggers edition naman hahaha sa malapit lang para payagan ka hahaha

  6. Grabe, ang sexy mo!!! *heart eyes* I definitely agree with someone will always disagree because we all have different opinions and pockets. Haha! As for me, I'd always say to my friends, 'Ay, ang mahal' even though, I can afford it. It's just that I'm too kuripot sometimes. Hahaha! :D
