Saying hello from my new homepage! It's time for me to let go of the past and start a new. I guess, the universe makes it's own way so I can't access my old files and so I could move on and start a new beginning as 2017 enters too. My site reeejoyce.com surely served me well thru the years I've been blogging, from Tumblr until I moved to a self-hosted site but I believe it's time to change everything now as I will start a new blog that surely last forever.
To tell you the truth, I tried to retrieve my self-hosted blog which I did by spending a fortune on it (I regret it, tbh). The site was back but the post isn't. The domain is still active by the way. I felt really bad about it because I put so much hard work in those contents and now I can't access it anymore and it's all because I forgot to renew my host site that leads me to this. And as of writing this post, I decided to just let it go and find a blog home that won't make trouble if I forgot to pay something.
I had a hard time thinking about whether to go back to blogging or not. At first, I wanted to stop blogging because I don't want to spend any more on something I can't update regularly and do an effort that no one notice but I just can't let it go because blogging is my only way to keep my memories alive that I could re-read and see, so I decided to just go back. I signed up in a free-platform site, left my old domain and start a new. Anyway, I'm now continuing what I love, so here I am writing again and sharing what I have to share.
This big transfer wouldn't even possible without the help of some bloggers friends I gained during the hard time I'm fixing the site. If it weren't for them I'm probably still going crazy with codes and stuff regarding this blog.
I would like to thank some people who helped me A LOT to make this blog possible. Thank you, Renee for setting my theme and helping me out here in Blogger. Melissa for helping me decide on my domain host and Instagram widget. Thank you Pangalan.com for my domain. Thanks Clarisa for my very cute blog banner. Kelly, oh Kelly, thank you for setting up my domain name. And also Mei for the continued support and getting crazy with me while I whine over how hard to fix my blog and how down I was on my lost files. To some bloggers where I got my inspiration, thank you aswell! Ofcourse, to my Telegram friends who keep on replying everytime I have questions, thank you! I owe everything in this blog to everyone, I got so much love from you guys. Thank you from the bottom of my heart until the bottom of the ocean and back.
So welcome to my new site in Blogger, I hope you still continue visiting it as I will try my best to update regularly.
love,

Awww, I almost got teary-eyed when you talked about your old posts being gone. To be honest, if that happened to me, I would be out of my mind. Good thing you decided to come back. You're welcome, too! I love your new banner!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I also started this year by relaunching my blog. It feels good going back to the hobby that we've grown with, right? Hoping to see more of your posts!

I remember your old site! I remember one time na I was just there because I'm stalking all your foodtrips in the South because boyfriend and I were planning to go try some rooftop restaurants there! But it's okay!
ReplyDeleteIt's a brand new year and it's a brand new blog. and I love everything about your site. Welcome back, Rej!
This is such a great opening post for your 2017 babe! I had the same thought just like you before if I should stop blogging or not because I could'nt post as much as I want to. But sayang naman, you could always go back to blogging and post anything you like if you have anything to do within the day and share your thoughts and rants.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year babe! I hope you could visit my blog too! Mwaaah!

I'm just new here! Thank you for dropping by my blog, btw! It's really sad that you lost everything in your self-hosted blog :( I'm going to stick around <3 I'm looking forward to your next posts. :)

Too bad about the self-hosted site especially with the benefits experienced on using such site despite the expenses but thank you for sharing your experience even though how sad it could be. This would a reminder for all bloggers who are self-hosted to renew their blog and keep it in mind or on a planner. Hehe! Good luck on your blogging journey, Ate Rej! Cheers to new beginnings. Happy new year. :)
